DISCUSSION:
There's nothing new about the devil's tactics. He is very predictable. He lies, steals, kills, and destroys. It is important that before you stand up to the devil, you have to already have submitted and surrendered to God. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God that He may lift you up in due season (see 1 Peter 5:6).
Resist the devil, and he will flee. The word resist is the same idea as if you resist arrest; you push back, fight back against the officer who's trying to apprehend you. You need to push back against the devil.
When you do this, he will turn away and run from you. In some translations, it says he will run away in terror. He's going to be afraid of you because you've submitted to God, and you're under His authority.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV): Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
• The devil goes around like a roaring lion seeking to whom he may devour.
• Even though he may appear to be a roaring lion, the Bible says to resist him.
• Be steadfast in your faith and push him back.
• Faith is your weapon.
• There will be suffering because he intends to devour. Remain firm in your faith, for it will stop him. Remember, the brotherhood is experiencing the same sufferings.
• Be sober and vigilant.
Discuss what it means to be sober-minded and vigilant. Talk about how you push the devil back and resist him while remaining steadfast in your faith.
PUSH DOWN OUR ENEMIES
Psalm 44:5 (NKJV): Through You, we will push down our enemies; Through Your name, we will trample those who rise up against us.
David is saying, "Lord, you're going to push down our enemies. You're going to smash them and invoke the name of God. We will trample those who rise up against us. God will use us to trample on serpents and scorpions to overcome all the power of the enemy. When we encounter satan, we cannot be afraid of him. He has no new tricks, and we know how he operates. We're not ignorant of his devices; we stand up against him, and we're not afraid because there's nothing new. He doesn't have much else to do except steal, kill, and destroy. We need to resist him, and that requires a lot more than just saying, "don't do that anymore."

We have to invoke the authority and power Jesus gave us because we've become sons/daughters of God. The Bible says He's given us the power to become sons of God because we adhere to His teachings and embrace Him. (see John 1: 12) Because you've embraced Jesus' teachings and you've embraced Him as a person, He gave you the power. It's not the
Dunamis power that we talk about; it's another type of power.
He's given us the authority to become sons of God, which means that we can trample on serpents and scorpions, having power and authority over all the enemy. You don't have to be physically strong to have authority. You just have to have the right certification and badge, and people have to respect you, whether you weigh 80 pounds 800 pounds. Authority is given to you by a higher power, and it's based on what you represent. We represent God because were believers. The idea is to get under the authority and then represent that authority. When the enemy comes at you, he's coming at who you're under. It's not just you.
That's why the devil is afraid to tell you the truth. He listens to us as believers because of the authority that we represent on the Earth. That's why you need to use the name of Jesus because then they get it. When you mention the blood of Jesus, they get it because the blood has defeated them. The Lord made a show of them openly triumphing over them at the cross. When you invoke the name of Jesus, then they have to deal with that person who is Jesus, just not you.
David's perspective in Psalms 44 is that the Lord will crush or push down the enemy and that through using the name of God, He's going to trample those who rise up against us. David was standing up for what God stands up for.
Like David, we stand up for what God stands up for.
1. Discuss: what it means when the devil goes around seeking to whom he can devour. Are you someone he can devour? What will you do differently to put him in his place?
2. Discuss the authority you have. How did you get it and do you know how powerful God’s authority is? What does it mean to get under authority and represent the authority you have?
3. Do you understand what it means to be a son or daughter of the Father God?
PRAYER:
Father in the name of Jesus. Thank you so much for everything you're doing. And we just thank you that you gave us the privilege and the ability to become sons of God. And I thank you, Lord, that because we've been given that authority that we walk in great authority because we're under great authority, and we thank you for that power. And I thank you for the revelation that goes out all over the world to all our Warrior friends.
Father, that all over the world we see, and we know that we walk in great authority because we're under great authority. And I thank you for the anointing and the power. And I rebuke sickness, and I drive out sickness from the friend's bodies all over the world. And I drive out evil spirits all over the world. I command them to let go of God's people right now and free up your mind in Jesus name. And I thank you that the spirit of revelation and the knowledge of you Father will explode within the inner man of everybody and that their eyes will see, and their ears will hear. And I thank you for taking care of everyone's needs. Father, that you're a good, loving heavenly Father, and you're canceling debt, and you're giving everyone what they need. And I thank you that you even provide their wants for them in the name of Jesus.
